Enhanced Provisions at Little Lambs
Whilst the 15 and 30 hours subsidised government funding covers the standard elements of the EYFS, we believe that there is only one opportunity to provide the best start in life, and one chance to maximise your child’s opportunities and experiences during their formative years; prior to children entering school, 95% of their brain has already developed!
To enable us to offer more than the standard EYFS provision which the Government Funding covers, our Enhanced Provision fee includes the following;
Comprehensive Care Tailored to Every Child
At Little Lambs at Lambley, we pride ourselves on offering a range of enhanced provisions that go beyond standard childcare services. Our comprehensive approach ensures that every child receives personalised care that nurtures their individual development journey. From our thoughtfully designed spaces to our specialist programmes, everything at Little Lambs has been carefully crafted to provide exceptional early years experiences that lay strong foundations for future learning and development.
Specialised Age-Appropriate Environments
Our nursery features dedicated spaces specifically designed for different age groups, ensuring that all activities and resources are developmentally appropriate. For our youngest babies (from approximately 2 months), we provide a peaceful, sensory-rich environment with gentle stimulation and consistent key workers. Our toddler areas encourage safe exploration and emerging independence, whilst our pre-school spaces are equipped with resources that promote not just school readiness but development of key skills for life. Each area has been thoughtfully designed with child-led learning, safety, and engagement in mind.

Outdoor Adventure and Exploration
We believe strongly in the value of outdoor experiences for children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Our secure outdoor play area offers varied opportunities for active play, sensory exploration, and connection with nature throughout the year. Being situated in the beautiful village of Lambley provides us with unique access to the famous Lambley Dumbles, where we conduct regular nature walks for our older children. These experiences encourage environmental awareness, physical development, and a sense of adventure that cannot be replicated indoors.
Nutritional Excellence
Nutrition plays a vital role in children’s development, which is why we place such strong emphasis on our food provision. All meals and snacks are freshly prepared on-site by our dedicated catering team using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our varied menu introduces children to diverse flavours and textures whilst meeting all nutritional requirements for growing bodies and minds. We meticulously cater for allergies and special dietary needs, ensuring every child enjoys safe, nutritious meals alongside their peers regardless of dietary restrictions.
If you do not wish to purchase our meals option, you can bring in lunch in the morning but will need to drop tea off at 3.30 as we do not have the facilities for cold storage. Packed lunches must adhere to our ‘healthy bodies, healthy me’ policy. Further details can be obtained from the office.
Inclusive Support and SEN Provision
Little Lambs is committed to inclusive practice, with extensive experience supporting children with various Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) oversees personalised support plans for children requiring additional assistance, whether for speech and language development, physical mobility, sensory processing, or social-emotional needs. We work collaboratively with external specialists and implement adaptations to ensure all children can access our full curriculum, celebrating neurodiversity and different abilities within our setting.
Seamless Settling-In Programme
Beginning nursery is a significant transition for both children and parents, which can be more complex for those families who are accommodating more challenging needs.. Our bespoke settling-in programme is tailored to each family’s needs, beginning with accompanied sessions for our SEND families, where parents remain present should they wish, gradually transitioning to independent visits of increasing duration. This gentle, child-led approach ensures that SEND children build strong attachments with their key workers and develop confidence in their new environment at their own pace, establishing a sense of security that underpins their future learning and development.
Comprehensive Communication Systems
We utilise multiple communication channels to ensure parents remain fully connected with their child’s nursery experience. For our youngest children, daily written diaries document feeding, sleeping, and developmental milestones. All families who opt for this additional service benefit from the Famly digital platform, which provides regular photo updates, observations, and developmental assessments. Our comprehensive termly reports offer detailed insights into each child’s progress, complemented by parent consultation opportunities to discuss development and next steps collaboratively.
